Notice the interchanging blocks of (1) teaching material and (2) what we might call OJT. And then it is quite apparent that this was the writer’s design because of the five times that the phrase “When Jesus finished . . .” (open your Bibles and read those five transition segments, please) which follows each of the teaching blocks. Amazing, huh?!!! For me, this helps get the direction and basic thrust of Matthew himself for Christian awareness and growth which, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, are suitable for believers in every generation.
